Dr. Emami: appreciation from learners and professors in integrated celebration of alumni is a nice movement
TUMSAO News: In threshold of 5th integrated alumni ceremony that is held on 21st July, we interviewed with Dr. Emami dean of medical school.
In threshold of 5th integrated alumni ceremony, please explain us about medical school condition that is the oldest school around the country?
Medical school is the oldest school that has 80 years antiquity, at now more than 6 thousands students is under graduated in this school; also graduations around the world and in our country are in the posts that had been able to services in deferent countries.
Due to medical school antiquity, what’s your opinion about this point that what platforms in medical school have been provided to take advantage of maximum cooperation of its alumni?
Some past years medical school alumni in form of faculty have been added to school and have learned some students. After establishing alumni office in medical school, this relationship has been integrated more. We hope with efforts of professor Bahadori, professor Hesabi in alumni office, we can expand relation with them.
You have noted to alumni office establishment, can you explain more differences and weak points among TUMS’s alumni office and other Universities?
Our most important strength point is need of alumni to this relationship; we train them how to maintain this relationship and we try to monitor them around the world and we are happy that they achieved increasing development.
What does integrated alumni ceremony play in maintaining this relation?
This celebration is a nice movement, because there hasn’t been in past years and we felt it’s absent. I think that it is a good point to have relation with our alumni. And we introduce this office and one of most important role of us in celebration day is introducing alumni office of medical school because we don’t need to present education and research programs.
You think that what alumni need for maintaining their relation with university?
I think most important work is facility. Whatever relation with alumnus is easier our duty will be better. One day, if alumni come to us, we must absorb them. Our rooms are open to them; we are ready to visit them.
If such mentality exists in authorities, we won’t have any barrier in contact with alumni.
Part of ceremony is appreciation from winners, what’s your view point about this?
I think it (appreciation from professors and alumni) is a nice movement; truth is that we have good alumni and selection of best ones among these elite is a hard work;
