In this meeting, the opinions and suggestions of Dr. Mohammad Eslami, pioneer professor of the Faculty of Dentistry in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and engineer Homayoun Hajkhani, representatives of the Cultural Aid Society, regarding the methods of attracting donors and new resources and benefiting from the successful programs of the Aid Society in line with the development of the university, were discussed and exchanged.
According to the public relations report of the University Alumni office, in this meeting that was held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Council Hall of the Alumni office, Dr. Seyed mansour Gatmiri, the head of the Alumni office, while welcoming the guests, said: "Currently, only Tehran University of Medical Sciences is the university that officially has an alumni office in the country. The basis of this office's work is establishing two-way communication between the graduates and the university and benefiting from their ability to promote the university and also help the graduates.
He added: "We have maintained our relationship with the students by setting up alumni offices in all faculties under the management of one of the veteran professors in each faculty." In addition, centres have also been established that annually organize celebrations and conferences for the students of entrances and different fields to learn about each other's charitable activities, such as building a school, etc.
Dr. Gatmiri called the holding of professional commitment seminars and Yalda professor's conference as one of the most important scientific activities of this office and added: the establishment of the professor's house in the affiliated hospitals of the university and the establishment of Professor Bahadri's scientific and cultural foundation are other activities of this office.
The head of the Alumni office stated that, since this office is a government organization, there were some challenges in attracting resources from foreign students and clarified: Considering this situation, we thought of establishing a non-governmental organization and We started a foundation with the help of friends, which was named after Professor Bahadri's scientific and cultural foundation, and so far, considerable donations have been received from the students and spent in the university.
Dr. Gatmiri continued: With the expansion of the activities of the Alumni office, after the opening of the provincial branches, the first international branch of the Alumni office has started its activities with the cooperation of representatives in Budapest. In addition to expanding the communication network with the university graduates who live in Europe, this branch cooperates with the university and Semielwise University in joint activities.
He added: Professor Rozival, the former president of Semielwise University, who currently has valuable cooperation with the European Society of Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology, is also an associate professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. During his visits to Tehran University of Medical Sciences, he got to know Prof. Bahadri and his interest in Prof. Bahadri and the university caused him to become an honorary member of the University's Alumni office.
The Head of Alumni office continued: Currently, with the cooperation of Professor Rozival and Dr. Mirzahosseini, as representatives of the Alumni Office, the first international branch of the university in Europe has been established in Budapest, which is attended by a number of university alumni, a gathering of resident alumni. Europe was also held in Hungary.
Dr. Gatmiri also mentioned the holding of monthly meetings and vaccination of veteran professors during the Corona era as other activities of this office and said: We have been able to help the university by setting up alumni offices in some provinces of the country such as Yazd, Babol, etc. Of course, these activities were carried out independently and without imposing budget on the university.
He also explained about the process of holding graduation parties of students and the annual seminar on professional commitment and honoring the winners of Professor Bahadri's scientific and cultural foundation in the field of professional commitment.
In the continuation of the meeting, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Reza Seyed Ahmadian, Secretary of the Alumni office, said: This office is like an ocean that can enter most of the activities of the university, activities such as communicating with students and graduates, attracting financial resources and providing equipment. For the university, holding annual scientific and cultural conferences, setting up group gatherings and graduation celebrations.
Then Dr. Maryam Zahedi, director of public affairs of the office, said: "This office was established with the support of the late professor Dr. Bahadri, and it has achieved great goals and will continue after him."
He added that during the lifetime of Professor Bahadri, this office was always host to veteran and benevolent professors and students.
In the following, Dr. Mohammad Eslami, a graduate and veteran professor of the Faculty of Dentistry and a real benefactor, considered having a belief in the heart as the most important factor for doing good deeds and said: by introducing and appreciating veteran and charitable professors such as the late Dr. Farsam, Dr. Mosafa, Dr. Ramin, Dr. Shams, etc., who despite being professors were like a father to the students and helped them a lot, it is possible to create a double motivation in today's professors and students.
Then engineer Homayoun Haji Khani, a member of Yavari Farhang society, said: I am happy that today I got to know the names of great people in this office, because I had no knowledge of the activities of this office, and with Dr. Gatmiri's explanations and the loyalty of the members of this office to the late teacher, Dr. Muslim Bahadri. As the founder of Tehran University of Medical Sciences Alumni office, I see the field of activities in good affairs and attraction of good is very broad, stable and lasting.
He added: Considering the works that have been done since the establishment of this office until now, you can benefit from people's help to solve the problems of the university by introducing this office and gaining trust. In addition, you can get help from the scholars of the university by presenting a report on the performance of Professor Bahadri's office and scientific and cultural foundation, because this office definitely needs stable financial resources for sustainable development.
In the end, it was decided that the meeting and consensus with the representatives of the culture help society will continue, so that by using the guidelines and activities of this society, great steps can be taken in attracting resources for the development and equipping of the university, especially the students.
