In the two-day national seminar on health tourism, policies, prospects, tariff setting, accreditation standards, legal issues of international patients, challenges and successful experiences in health tourism will be discussed.
According to the public relations report of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Hossein Ghenaati, the president of the university , in the opening of this meeting, considered the National cooperation on health tourism as an important issue and said: "The time has definitely come for the issue of medical tourism to be examined from different aspects and I appreciate the friends who worked hard in this field and I hope that we will achieve valuable results with the correct consensus.
He emphasized the necessity of an oil-free economy and said: We have many opportunities for business in the country so that we can earn good incomes without the need for oil. Medical tourism and health tourism is one of these cases. According to the available statistics, 80% of world trade is based on services and 20% is based on production, so we can use this opportunity.
The president of the university added: Just as Vietnam has been successful in the field of clothing, we can also look at the successful models and boost the health tourism industry and benefit from it. The first step in this field will be clarifying the patient's entry and exit process from the airport to the return.
Dr. Ghenaati emphasized the need to speed up activities and planning and said: Don't think that opportunities are permanent. Once we were at the peak of health tourism, but now it is not like this and we have to plan in competition with the surrounding countries. In this situation, let's not forget the time factor in management. Also, according to the unique measures that we have in the field of eyes and heart, etc. with a correct and customer-oriented planning, we should do it very well.
He said that "branding and prestige of the country is very important in health tourism and we should also pay attention to the quality of service." He pointed out: The money is good, but this issue should not be targeted so that the patient will be harmed. Let's change the attitude and view and have a service-oriented view on this issue. Once we were in competition to provide services and now we have to revive this view and not sacrifice it for the acquisition of more money.
Dr. Ghenaati considered the management of Mayo Clinic as a successful example of providing qualified services and stated: we must turn the service-oriented, human-friendly, quality-oriented approach into culture, because we can provide good and qualified service. If you work properly and work with the aim of serving the patient, you can be successful.
The president of the university added: Let's use this opportunity to create wealth for the country. The economic problem and the major problems of the country come back to the issue of non-compliance with the law and mismanagement, and I hope that we act correctly in this area with a national view and witness good results in this field
