Dr. Mirsepasi: For contributing a patient, we must evaluate him/her in many aspects

TUMSAO: For commemoration of Dr. Mirsepasi, a pioneer professor of psychiatry of the University alumni office has had an interview with him.

 

 

             Dr. mirsepasi was born in 1946, in Tehran. After passing high school course, he traveled to USA, to participate in University to pass high education but after 2 years came back to Iran and passed medical course in Tehran University. After years he went London for passing psychiatry course and then came back Iran.

            He has said that rational relation between patient and medicine is most important character of a psychiatric medicine.

           

          Mr. Professor Can you explain your life briefly?

I was born in 1946, in Tehran. After passing high school course in Alborz School, for high education, I went to USA but after two years my father advised me to come back Iran. I passed medical course in Tehran University. After years I went London for passing psychiatry course and then came back Iran.

 

          Can you explain about your father family?

My father liked us to be medicines thus my brother had been a fame surgeon in USA and my father recommended going to psychiatry institute of London and lastly graduated them and I came back Iran. I was too active in Ruzbeh hospital.

 

          Can you explain about your relations in hospital?

I was an ordinary student but I was exact in my profession, I had been trained with good professors like Dr. Yalda, Dr. Bahadori and ….

I was retired quickly after 25 years. And I did different works like vice chancellor, treasurer and at last chancellor.

 

 

          You have been graduated in London, what’s your aim about coming back to Iran?

I love Iranian people and for mental health, we must respect our compatriots.

 

          Mr. Professor, can you explain about professionalism in the field of psychiatry?

All of medicines have duty to treat patients and all of psychologists have too, we must apply initial prevention even it’s a difficult.  

Fortunately, rehabilitation and psychiatry centers have been enhanced but generally initial treatment is too important for prevention.

 

          Can you explain more about your private life?

I married with my spouse in sixth year of medicine and I have 2 daughters.

 

          What’s your father’s driver in establishing this hospital?

He had a different works like cinema studio for movie making of forensic medicine and also had launched an association for support of deaf and mute people.

 

          In your opinion, what’s the position of psychiatry course in Iran and the world?

Different hospitals have different positions like Ruzbeh Hospital has 1st position among psychiatric hospitals at the world but some hospitals are lower than others.

 

          And what’s your ending point?

At the end, I appreciate from alumni offices that appreciate from retired professors in their life time.
