According to the public relations report of the Alumni Office, Dr. Mohammad Raiszadeh, head of the medical system organization, in the sixth seminar on professional commitment in health services, which was held on January 26 and 27, 2023, in the Ibn Sina Hall of the Faculty of Medicine of the University, while honouring the memory of Professor Bahadri. And he expressed gratitude to the staff of Professor Bahadri's Scientific and Cultural Foundation and the Alumni Office. We Face with two challenges. One of these challenges is related to outside the field of health and the other is inside the field of health.
He added: The challenge outside the health field is caused by the lack of knowledge about the realities of the medical community today by the officials of the organs, tribunes and media, which is very serious and has no proportion to the current situation and the existing realities, so they judge based on the that rule and they want to implement based on these rules, and they end up in trouble.
Dr. Raeeszadeh stated that the decrease and neglect of the medical profession and professional commitment is a big challenge of the medical community, which brings down the dignity, grandeur, reputation of medical community, and clarified: Of course, this excuse is not acceptable for any reason. We should not sacrifice the health of the patient entrusted to us for our mistakes. A doctor should not endanger the life and health of the patient due to economic expediency, time, health, personal work, because the treatment of the patient is entrusted to us and we have no right to neglect our duties for any reason or excuse.
In the continuation of his speech, he said: On the one hand, teaching students is not desirable, and on the other hand, in the implementation phase, there is no proper supervision and after the supervision, there is no written solution for handling (although I disagree with the handling and it is not the right solution) and in From my point of view, the current condition of the medical community is an educational and economic issue such as tariffs, equipment, etc., and the basic solution to get out of this crisis is the implementation of professional commitment.
Dr. Raiszadeh reminded: economic problems are only specific to our time? In the past, our elders such as Professor Bahadri and Professor Yalda also faced these challenges and problems, but they never left the framework of their duties. For example, the late Professor Bahadri was in Savak prison during the pre-internship exam, and with what problems did he come to Tehran from Tenekabon and participated in the exam and suffered many other problems, but he never left his moral framework and professional commitment.
He stated that we cannot justify the anomalies of the medical community with the existence of tariff problems and economic problems, he said: I believe that the infrastructure must be reformed because if we want to comply with professional commitments in normal conditions and even in crisis conditions. Therefore, we cannot only criticize and compare the tasks of the medical community in the media, television, parliament and government.
The head of the medical system organization stated: Sometimes in an official media, the medical community of Iran is compared with foreign countries, how much time they allocate for patients. What is the number of doctors per capita in relation to their population, and how accessible are they in different provinces? But even once the comparison of the rights of the medical community with these countries is not done and it is very clear that this comparison was not done in a scientific way. For example, they can compare the amount received by an Iranian doctor with an Afghan doctor. How much is fifteen minutes of an Afghan doctor compared to five minutes of an Iranian doctor paid in dollars? How much is the time spent by our resident and his income compared to the Afghan resident and his income?
He continued: What did our doctors do during the Corona, war, and what did they do during the crisis of their country? These are one-sided views that create a great challenge to understand the realities of the medical community and ignore the strengths and highlight the weaknesses, which also contributes to the diminution of professional commitment.
Dr. Raiszadeh said: I strongly believe that our medical society is a very cultured, noble, people-oriented, conscientious society, which they mentioned in their biographies and books before Islam. In fact, we are the heirs of such a principles.
Stating that there is a misunderstanding of the medical community today, he stated: They turn exceptions into rules. Ten percent see the mistakes of the medical community (which, of course, exist in every profession) and ninety percent do not see the services that exist day and night with the minimum tariff and maximum quality and commitment.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Raeeszadeh reminded, this is the word of the community leader. Those who have tribunes should not raise problems such as illegal money and fuel the fire of the society and should not diminish people's trust in the medical community with these discussions, which ultimately harm the health of the patient. Therefore, we have the duty to teach the discussion of professional commitment. In this regard, we held frequent meetings with more than a hundred associations in the medical system organization, and fortunately, we have many scientific works in progress.
