Professionalism in medical sciences is dependent on Person's character
TUMSAO: In the 4th professional commitment seminar that was held virtually, Dr. Jafarian lectured in the field of Professionalism in medical sciences.
TUMSAO: He said:' Covid-19 Pandemic has been involved different specialties including professional commitment, from last year'.
He said:' according to article of sciences & engineering ethics, there are 3 principles in Professionalism:1. Competence: can someone afford to assigned responsibility, 2.Is It true, 3. Is it profitable for society
Professionalism is depend on people character and people must have necessary ethics.
He added Professionalism has 3 parts: 1.patient welfare, 2. Patient autonomy, 3. Social Justice'.
Dr. Jafarian listed personal competence, honesty and integrity, confidentiality, proper communication with patients, quality improvement, improving access, fairness in the distribution of resources, updating knowledge and advancing it, conflict of interests and professional responsibilities as the 10 main issues of the medical charter. He emphasized their observance.
In another part of his lecture, added:' relation between professional & academic bodies enhance people knowledge in health field & strengthen Political behaviors'.
He also added:' professionalism is a strong believe and when we educate it to young people, we must pay attention to their condition'.
