 In threshold of holding commemoration ceremony of Orthopedic group Dr. Motamedi that will be held in Imam Hall of Imam Khomeini complex, we had a talk with him:

Dr. Motamedi, we are happy that at now we are in your service, today we want to be familiar with your life, could you please talk with us about study times;

            In the name of God, I was born in Isfahan and I passed high school in Saremieh and I was accepted in different cities like Tabriz, Shiraz and Tehran. I’ve gone to Isfahan city, after that I have passed military service in Tehran and after that I have gone to medical school in Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Shariti hospital and for two years I’ve taught students of midwifery school and in that year I’ve travelled to London And been educated with Professor Hitley and Professor opelly and I’ve passed educational courses in London hospitals and participated in different conferences at last I came back to Iran and employed in Enqelab hospital and treated wounded worriers.

            Please talk about first days of your entrance to Imam (RAH) Hospital? After being accepted as faculty of TUMS, I came to Imam (RAH) and I took the chair of orthopedics and Orthopedics had inconvenient situation, number of beds were very low, I tried very much to change this situation. At that time imposed war was begun and I took chair of wounded worriers’ part.

            Can you verify some memories of that time? One time I was in Surgery room and patient was unconscious and      suddenly, they bombarded from 6 areas and many people were injured and all the cars were destroyed there. Anastasia expert said: ’I went’. I said that when we did our duty all of us will go and you cannot leave here solely.

            Please talk about your professors? Dr. Alami, professor of orthopedic part of Shariati hospital, Professor Navvab, Dr. Faghihi and Dr. Taghizadeh.

            Can you explain about your responsibilities? After being chair of orthopedic part, I became educational assistant of hospital and after some years I became chair of surgery part of TUMS and also I was chair of orthopedic part of pediatrics hospital, after that I became head of rehabilitation school of TUMS. I’ve written many articles in Persian and in English that have been published out in internal and external magazines.    

Can you explain more about foreign trips?  I travelled to Canada in 1990, under supervision Dr. castwitch I learned stanchion well and also Knee problems and learned prosthesis and Minsk transplantation.  After two years I came back to Iran and did first Minsk transplantation for first time and transmitted to all of country. The result was education of many practitioners and orthopedic surgeons.

Professor, can you say us, what year you retire? I was retired in 2015 but at now I and some of our retired friends are servicing to society at now.

What’s your reason about selection of orthopedic surgery? When I was practitioner, people had been doing many more orthopedic surgeries and at past years orthopedic surgeons were very few and for this reason, I selected this course for servicing to peoples. I hope that people that will come after us, pass this way very well and try very much to service people.

Professor, please describe your feelings about a patient that has been treated lastly? I’m happy to reduce pain from people, many times have occurred to treat grandfather, father and grandson and they appreciated from me and this is for satisfaction of surgery.

Professor, you said that you had journeyed to many countries, what reason you didn’t stay in these countries and came back to Iran?

I have passed many years in Iran and serviced to Iranian people, and my family liked to service to Iranian people, for these reasons I decided to refuse welfare in abroad and service to Iranian people in Iran.

Professor if you want to describe love to homeland, how to do that?

Because we born in our self-homeland and we’ll die in this country, love to this country is very much and I’m happy to live in Iran.

Professor, please tell about your family, in what year you have married, how many children you have?

I got married in 1980, my wife was an accountant in Bank Melli, and I have 3 children, my son live in England and he got Ph.D. in Gynecology. I have two daughters that got married in Iran.

What’s your opinion about Medicine condition in Iran? Does our country have reached to a special place in Orthoepy?

Newly, I have gone to England, they said that Iranian patients have been very low. In addition to positions that I said, I am medical system expert and forensic medical expert. The number of orthopedic complaints to the forensic medicine has dropped very low and they are satisfied from their doctors.

Many medicines journey to abroad and live there when they got their educational degree, what’s your advice about them?

If they can stay here after their graduation, it would be alright. Here there are many sympatric people to educate them, they can be replaced with us and continue our way.

Professor, can you explain about your parents and their role in selection of your course?

When I entered to Tehran University, they would be happy when I employed there. When I went to England my father wrote that you must come back to Iran and service to your country and I come back. I am in connection with my students and experts that I have trained them, even I cooperated in their marriage. Like as Dr. Baghdadi that is surgery group manager and Dr. Mortazavi that is responsible for Orthopedic part of this hospital and where I go, there are some of my students there.

What do you wish for all students that have intention of serving to society?

I hope that they will be succeeded in their works with help of God. And do their works as we did and service to orthopedic group and definitely they would be succeeded.
