Dr. Beyg Mohammadi: Define your goals according to your conditions and ideals and move towards them with motivation

The Alumni office has held a dialogue with the heads of the university faculties on the eve of the 8th integrated celebration. You can read the interview with Dr. Mohammad Taqi Bey Mohammadi, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Thank you for your time. As the first question, as you know, the integrated celebration will be held on Thursday, July 28th of this month after a three-year break. How do you look at this celebration as the head of the faculty?

First of all, thank you for the opportunity given to me. Going through Corona was a special experience for the treatment staff and the lesson that can be learned from this experience was the loss of the blessing of being together and face-to-face communication, which fortunately was achieved, with the control of this disease and the re-establishment of a integrated celebration. Basically, the programs that happen in a collective mode make people get in close contact. The Faculty of Medicine also insists on increasing physical presence in all programs and the integrated celebration is also a part of these programs.

How do you think the reflection of this celebration will be?

The Corona epidemic created a thirst for the presence of students in social gatherings by creating a virtual environment, and now everyone is eager to do their work in person and together. As you know, many of our skills and socialization are in physical communication and we have clearly seen that in the last 3 years these skills have decreased a lot in our students, which is considered a weakness for them. Practically, the problem of communication is formed in these environments, which is a prerequisite for medical work.

Part of this celebration is the ceremony of appreciation for selected professors and students, how do you think the reflection of this recognition will be?

This work is very valuable. Thanking and being grateful is a very good thing. Of course, today this work has faded in the society and is more faded among students. We don't teach students and the new generation to be grateful with all the demands they have and we are very critical and negative. You can start with a thank and then raise critical issues. Acknowledging the best professors and student means that the system monitors and sees and values good performance. Introducing role models to students makes them benefit from their experiences, and another thing is that this atmosphere of despair created in the society by introducing best students or professors gives hope and the student sees that it is possible to be successful in this atmosphere of despair.

As the head of a faculty whose students perform the most important service in the treatment department, what advice do you have for the better execution of this celebration?

In performing such ceremonies, sometimes things become routine and stereotyped due to the problems that exist. But we are supposed to have a good output from doing this. If we want these ceremonies to increase hope, they must be well organized. It should have a lasting message for students and professors. The celebration should not be organized in a formal way, a part of the ceremony should be dedicated to meeting students with professors so that they can get to know each other better and work more successfully better with eliminating long lectures.

Can you speak to the graduates?

Introducing a professor or student in this ceremony is a kind of transfer of experience. First, the student must clarify his task, find his role model and get closer to his goal with the relationship he establishes. Or if he has a concern, he will get the answer in this celebration, for example, a student intends to emigrate and a professor with good positions abroad has returned to the country to ask why he did not stay there. or looking for answers to other questions he has. Seeing a pattern or hearing other people's stories makes the way to a better decision easier.

Can you say a congratulatory message and a lasting word for the graduates?

Whether you are an idealist or not, you must achieve your goals. Every person must be idealistic to achieve great goals, otherwise he will not have great dreams and cannot plan for his work. Beside it, He must be real. The main improvement is in being idealistic. You have to act realistically, think ideally to conquer the high peaks.

People have different talents and capabilities, but the conditions are also different for people. Therefore, each person should define his goals according to his conditions and ideals and move towards them. I ask the students to revive this thinking in themselves, not to be afraid, to be bold. Make sure that they can fly high, provided that they evaluate their flight ceiling correctly, then they will definitely succeed.
