Graduation ceremony of international MBBS students of Tehran University of Medical Sciences was held
The graduation ceremony of international MBBS students was held in the presence of Dr. Mohammad Hossein Aiati, International Vice President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
According to Alumni Office of the International Vice-Chancellor, in this ceremony, which was held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the International Campus of the University, Dr. Seyed Mehdi Rezayat, the Vice-Chancellor of the International Campus, Dr. Omid Aminian, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the International Campus, Dr. Reza Yazdani, the Dean of the Faculty International Campus Dentistry, Dr. Arman Zargran, Director of International Development of the University, Dr. Sara Pourshahidi, Director of University Educational Affairs, Dr. Seyed Mojtaa Tahiki, International Campus Research Vice President, Dr. Seyed Reza Hosseini Sedeh, Executive Advisor to the International Vice President of the University, Dr. Jabraeil Nesl Saraji, Senior professor and advisor to the Vice-Chancellor of the International Campus, Dr. Nasreen Dashti, Director of International Student Education, Dr. Shoku Warei, Director of the International Campus Education Development Office, and a number of university professors were also present.
At the beginning, Dr. Aiati expressed his pleasure to be in the group of international students of the university and said: Today is an opportunity to congratulate all of you students for the great work you have accomplished. Studying in the field of medicine, which is related to human life, is considered a big, difficult and, of course, very valuable task.
The International Vice President of the University, referring to a hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which says, "Science and knowledge are of two types; One is the knowledge of religions and rites, the other is the science of examining bodies," he said: "We Muslims believe that man has two physical and spiritual dimensions, and the spiritual dimension is actually the human soul, and it will be eternal after death. Among these, the most important and superior sciences are the sciences that are related to the human soul, and part of them are religious sciences, and another part is sciences such as medicine, which has a direct link with the body and health.
Addressing the students, he said: You left your country and family to study science and emigrated, which is a sweet, hard experience and at the same time a great jihad, so I congratulate all of you for this jihad.
Dr. Aiati added: In a prophetic hadith, guided Muslims to seek knowledge and acquire knowledge even from China, which means Science does not have any limitations.
The international vice-chancellor of the university also drew students' attention to the medical ethics and stated: As a good doctor, do not deviate from the high goals of this profession and always make time for your patients, because the value and importance of providing appropriate and efficient treatment with material issues Not comparable. The Goals of doctors is human beings, so consider human dignity first.
Dr. Aiati also emphasized that in the field of medicine, the issue of graduation and leaving school has no meaning, he said: the progress of medical sciences day by day brings more attention to continuous medical education, in fact, doctors must use the most advanced methods to treat their patients. and be familiar with the latest medical equipment.
In the end, he stated that the university that you, the international students, have chosen to study is a large complex with an age of more than 170 years, and he clarified: Tehran University of Medical Sciences was founded by Amir Kabir and ranks first in education, research and new technologies among universities. The country's medical sciences have been assigned to itself.
While wishing success to the students in all stages of life, the international vice president of the university said: The international department of the university made every effort to provide suitable environment for the study of foreign students.
Then, Dr. Rezayat presented a report on the status of international students in the university and stated: Currently, more than 1,300 international students are studying in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and this group is the largest in terms of quantity and diversity of the countries that accept foreign students. It is in a good position with a significant distance compared to other universities.
The vice-chancellor of the international campus added: In terms of distribution, more than 56% of international students study in the field of general medicine and in the medical school, and in terms of gender, there is no significant difference between the number of male and female students.
He stated that 509 international students have graduated from the university so far and added: About 80 of them are MD and MBBS graduates from 12 countries.
Dr. Satshani also congratulated the graduating students, from Dr. Porshahidi, director of educational affairs of the university, Dr. Aminian, head of the Faculty of Medicine of the International Campus, Dr. Zargran, director of the development of international affairs of the university, Dr. Taqihi, vice president of research of the International Campus, Dr. Hosseini Sedeh, executive consultant. The international vice president of the university and Dr. Nesl Saraji, the advisor of the vice-chancellor of the international campus, thanked the students for accompanying them in their education until graduation.
Dr. Porshahidi, pointing out that he was present in this gathering on behalf of the university's vice-chancellor of education, said: I hope international students will leave Tehran University of Medical Sciences with a bagful of good and lasting memories.
The director of educational affairs of the university expressed his hope that the scientific and cultural relationship of these students will be maintained with the university after graduation and wished them success.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aminian considered the education of international students and their graduation as the result of team work and cooperation of different departments at the university and thanked the managers and officials of the international field and the vice-chancellor of the university and the experts of the medical school and the vice-chancellor of the international campus.
The head of the Faculty of Medicine of the International Campus added: "I am very happy that today we are witnessing this ceremony for the students who were selected in the recruitment committees and among the 1,000 applicants to study in the university and were among the best."
Stating that the university has so far accepted foreign students for MD and MBBS courses, he added: These students, like Iranian students, took the exams in Persian language and fortunately, without any additional support, they obtained similar grades.
Referring to the connection of the international field of the university with the foreign students who have graduated so far, Dr. Aminian stated: some of these graduates are currently studying in the higher levels of the university or in other good universities of the world.
The head of the Faculty of Medicine of the International Campus noted that, relying on the capacities of the university, there is a readiness to accept international graduates at higher levels.
At the end of this ceremony, Samin Fathima, Seyed Fazeh Betul Zaidi and Seyed Haniyeh Betul Zaidi were honored as the best MBBS graduates.
Also, with the presence of the international vice president of the university and other vice presidents and managers present, the medical oath was read and the students' graduation cake was cut.
