Nephrology and liver transplant research centres of Tehran University of Medical Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding
Based on the agreement reached in the scientific meeting of May 2022 in Fuman city, Dr. Seyed Mansour Getmiri, head of the Nephrology Research Centre, and Dr. Mohsen Nasiri Toosi, head of the Liver Transplantation Research Centre of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to the Public Relations of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Nephrology Research Centre, this memorandum is for the purpose of promoting, organizing and developing cooperation between the two centres, especially regarding the diagnosis and treatment of primary hyperoxaluria disease and the method of organ allocation for performing liver and kidney transplants in primary hyperoxaluria patients and benefiting from the capabilities , expertise and hardware and software facilities of both sides were arranged in the fields of creation and expansion and cooperation in education, research and technology, laboratory and medicine between these two research centres of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
In the research field, measuring the existing research situation, especially primary hyperexalience in Iran, the region and the international level, scientific cooperation in conducting research, presenting results, holding joint scientific meetings and congresses, accessing the scientific systems of the parties, cooperating with professors and faculty members, following up on the implementation joint research plan, writing joint scientific articles with the affiliates of the parties, cooperation in the field of informing and publishing scientific-research newsletters on common topics, especially primary hyperexalience, evaluating the possibility of using the scientific resources of both parties for related researchers, translating texts agreed by the parties and Benefiting from the facilities of both sides for research and setting up diagnostic and treatment systems and recording information, creating fields for the implementation of research topics needed by both sides by faculty members and researchers of both sides, providing a conference and seminar hall for presenting joint scientific-research seminars and workshops and using Shared patient information in order to access new findings is an example of cooperation between the two sides. In the educational field of measuring the current situation, the level of information and knowledge and scientific activities about primary hyperexalvation in Iran, the region and the international level, cooperation to organize and present seminars, webinars, congresses and workshops and courses related to hyperexalvation within the framework of the educational laws of the Ministry of Health and Medicine. and medical education, use of educational environments of both sides and cooperation in holding educational workshops,meetings and joint scientific conferences are among the subjects of this memorandum.
In the field of infrastructure, facilitating the establishment of a laboratory and equipment for measuring the plasma level of oxalate, glycolate and L-glycerate in 2022 and in the later stages of setting up a laboratory for measuring the level of immunoreactive and enzymatic activity of the AGT enzyme in liver tissue and supporting patients in the search for AGXT mutations using facilities and equipment of both sides is one of the goals of this agreement.
Also, the preparation of the system of registration of joint patients' information is one of the clauses of this memorandum.
The term of this memorandum of understanding is three years from the date of registration, which can be extended for subsequent periods in future.
In this meeting, it was decided that the representatives of the two sides will hold coordination meetings to determine the details and implementation of the MOU issues in a specific schedule.
It was also decided that the results of the meetings of the representatives will be presented to both parties in the minutes and will be valid if approved by both parties.
In the end, it was decided that for the implementation of each of the issues and agreements of this memorandum, must be concluded according to the terms and conditions of the relevant contracts between the two parties.
