TUMSAO News: Monthly joint meeting of epidemiology group and Iran epidemiologist with presence of Dr gouya, general director for communicable diseases of Health Ministry, Dr Holakui, head of epidemiology department of Tehran University Medical Sciences, Vice president of Iran’s epidemiologists association, Dr Naseri, veteran Professor that is resident in abroad, Dr Siasi, Veteran Professor of Health ministry, Dr Akhavan, administrative and financial assistant and secretary of health college Alumni Office and a group of professors and students of this college, was held in hall of University Alumni Office, in 22^th, November, 2011.

At this meeting, Dr Akhavan welcomed the audience also in contact with Tehran University Alumni Office said: antiquity of Tehran University Medical Sciences is about 1934 that is first and oldest University in the country. At that time, it hadn’t University Alumni Office, but in year of 2007, was formed with cooperation and supports of Dr Larijani, Head of University and Professor Bahadori, Head of Alumni Office and after establishment of this office in Health College, Dr Edrisian was appointed as Alumni Office Head of Health College and I am also Secretary of this Office in the Health College.

At the following the meeting, Dr Akhavan noted to holding of 45 years celebration of Health College, with presence of veteran professors, alumni and Health College’s Students and with cooperation of Alumni Office, and welcomed to Dr Naseri.

At the following the meeting, Dr Holakui, Supervisor of Tehran University Medical Sciences epidemiology, vice president of Iran epidemiologists Society, said:’ when I came to Tehran University, only epidemiologist professor was Dr Naseri that was present fulltime in term of geographical.’

He continued his explanations with reference to the history of the Epidemiology Community, in Iran and the world, said: ‘Epidemiology is a new science in the World that we see its progress during the time.

Dr Holakui, in contact with Epidemiology history in Health College, said: ’Epidemiology history is involved with history of health college.’

Then professor Naseri, veteran professor of epidemiologist, said: ‘I’ve cooperated in Health College from 1969 and I’ve studied and worked there and now I’m happy to be with students and professors.’

At the following this meeting, professors and students expressed their questions and Dr Naseri responded to their questions and at the end of this ceremony, a gift was presented to Dr Naseri.
