The Constancy of professional commitment in the field of health, infrastructure, individual, social and organizational requirements was chosen as the title of the sixth professional commitment seminar
In the third meeting of the scientific committee of the sixth seminar on professional commitment, the main topic and sub-topics of the seminar were approved by the members of the scientific committee and it was decided to evaluate the topics of the lectures in the next meeting while appointing the members of the panels.
According to the public relations report of the Alumni Office, in this meeting, which was held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, with the presence of the members of the scientific committee, a professional commitment seminar was held in the Alumni Office, first Dr. Seyed Mansour Gatmiri, the head of the Alumni Office, while Presenting a report from the last meeting, he said: We will hold the sixth professional commitment seminar around the issues that the health community of the country is facing, and the issues related to the professional commitment issues that the members of this profession are facing and the duties that the members and upstream organizations are supporting. , legislative and regulatory in this regard are being examined.
He continued: Usually, every year more than twenty-five experts in the field of health, who were familiar with the topic of professionalism, have cooperated with us, of course, except for the festival, which was the introduction of role models, this seminar in the form of various panels that The selected topics were evaluated and analysed separately in two, three or four panels. It was held and despite the fact that we were facing Covid-19 for two years, this seminar was held virtually and was well received by the participants.
The head of the alumni office added: This year we hope to be able to hold the program in person and combined with virtual and on-line conditions. Our initial proposal for the subject of the professional commitment seminar was the subject of immigration. Currently, the issue of age-related migration is developing from both ends of the spectrum. This means that both elderly people who have a good social and academic status apply for early retirement and migrate to other countries, and many new students at the very beginning of the academic year ask professors how to fill out their resumes so that they can easily immigrate. Even in schools, the elite see preparations for immigration.
He continued: But after two review sessions and considering the dimensions of the issue, we finally came to the conclusion that the Constancy of professional commitment in the field of health, looking at the infrastructure, individual, social and organizational requirements, will be the topic of this year's seminar. It was the sixth professional commitment seminar apart from the festival section in four panels with the topics of professional commitment in the crisis under the guidance of Dr. Ahmad Ali Noorbala and follow-up by Dr. Samadi, the panel of individual requirements in the sustainability of professional commitment chaired by Professor Shahin Akhundzadeh, the panel of the role of organizations in the sustainability of professional commitment with Chaired by Prof. Mohammad Jalili and the panel on the role and reform of infrastructure in professional commitment, chaired by Prof. Sayyed Hasan Emami Razavi.
Dr. Gatmiri continued: Sometimes, in addition to social and economic motives, the instability of society's conditions, and misunderstandings in the assessment of conditions, it involves people too much. By analysing the topics of the panels, we can help young people to have a rational and balanced approach to social issues and avoid harm as much as possible.
He added: We should also not expect the medical community to bear all the crises and pressures caused by this profession as a saint, which in this case will lead to burnout and fatigue of the professionals.
In addition, Dr. Sayed Mohammadreza Seydahmadian, Secretary of the Alumni office, said: "Infrastructures have been made to hold the seminar, and it is better for the heads of the panels to choose their panel members with the consensus of other panels." Because the topic of the seminar is very broad and it should be held more scientifically and without borders.
Dr. Alireza Parsapour, a member of the Medical Ethics Education Department, also said: Looking at the main topics, I think we should make it easier for the audience at the beginning of setting the topics. For example, what is meant by crisis? In my opinion, before the seminar, the panellists should discuss and clarify the issues that will be raised in the meetings so that the issues can be explained to the audience in the best way.
Dr. Hamidreza Namazi, a member of the medical ethics training group of the Faculty of Medicine, while honoring the memory of Professor Bahadri, said: Professionalism was supposed to be a bridge between the humanities of health and medicine, research, etc., but gradually, professionalism became detached and separated from this aspect.
He added: Of course, I have criticism about the axes of professionalism. In my opinion, the crisis can be brought up from different aspects, for example, in Iran after the Covid-19, the number of scientific articles about professionalism increased, which should be used as one of the important topics.
Dr. Nikzad Isazadeh, the head of the Center for Medicine, Quran and Hadith Research and a member of the scientific committee of the 6th Professional Commitment Seminar, said: In raising the issue of individual requirements, the social dimension should not be ignored. Another thing is to use professors who are exemplary in professional commitment, while from the point of view of religious values, we have many words in religious sources that we can address in the best way. Of course, since this seminar is going to be held in three months, maybe the social conditions have changed and we have passed these current crises, so it is better to think more about the topics of the seminar.
Dr. Shahin Akhundzadeh and the head of the panel of individual requirements in the sustainability of professional commitment also stated: We will discuss immigration in the sixth seminar of professional commitment and in the panel of individual requirements, which of course is not related to the current state of the country. We must accept that there are crises in the country that must be discussed before and after.
Dr. Khoei was another participant in this virtual meeting who asked who are our audience in this seminar and stated: Are the youth the audience of this seminar? Or we should make the consequences of immigration clear to the authorities that we are losing a huge force of the country's capital.
He continued: With this generation, for many of whom there is no other choice but to migrate, a solution must be thought of, a serious pathology must be done so that the causes of this great problem can be identified and an effective solution provided, of course, according to the opinion of the youth and today's generation.
Then Dr. Sharifian, a member of the radiology department of the university, also emphasized the words of the committee members and suggested that this seminar be held away from any political discussions.
Also, Dr. Roya Sattarzadeh, a professor of the heart department of the university and a member of the scientific committee of the seminar, stated why we should not consider economic issues as one of the most important reasons for the migration of doctors, stating: I am worried about the professionalism of a teacher. I want my resident to work in any situation. He protests his rights and benefits and admits that he is still dependent on his family. So how can I teach my student professional commitment? I suggest that we think about the subject of the seminar with a lot of study and research that will have an acceptable outcome and address it using the thinking of young people.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the heads of the panels would identify and introduce their group members.
